နည်းပညာအရ Optical transceivers များကို အမျိုးအစား 3 မျိုးခွဲခြားနိုင်သည်- PDH, SPDH, SDH, HD-CVI.

PDH optical transceiver-

PDH (Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy၊ quasi-synchronous ဒစ်ဂျစ်တယ်စီးရီး) optical transceiver သည် point-to-point applications များဟုလည်း ခေါ်သော အတွဲများတွင် အသုံးပြုသည့် သေးငယ်သော စွမ်းရည်ရှိသော optical transceiver တစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။

SDH optical transceiver-

SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy၊ synchronous digital series) optical transceiver သည် ယေဘုယျအားဖြင့် 16E1 မှ 4032E1 အထိ ကြီးမားသောစွမ်းရည်ရှိသည်။

SPDH optical transceiver-

SPDH (Synchronous Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy) optical transceiver၊ PDH နှင့် SDH ကြား။ SPDH သည် SDH (Synchronous Digital Series) ၏ဝိသေသလက္ခဏာများပါရှိသော PDH ထုတ်လွှင့်မှုစနစ် (PDH ၏ကုဒ်နှုန်းထားကို ချိန်ညှိမှုနိယာမပေါ်အခြေခံ၍ SDH တွင် တတ်နိုင်သမျှ ကွန်ရက်ချိတ်ဆက်ခြင်းနည်းပညာ၏တစ်စိတ်တစ်ပိုင်းကို အသုံးပြု၍ တစ်ချိန်တည်းတွင်)။
