Omnitron launches 10Gig/100Watt Ethernet PoE switch

Irvine, California — Omnitron Systems, a supplier of Ethernet, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and optical networking products, has launched its next-generation OmniConverter 10Gigabit Ethernet switch product with power over Ethernet (PoE) up to 100W.
The new compact 10 Gb 6 and 10-port Ethernet switches are available in managed and unmanaged models, with two (2) small form-factor pluggable (SFP) 10 Gb fiber uplink ports and four (4) or eight (8) ) One 10/100/1 Gigabit copper Ethernet access port without PoE or 30, 60 or 100 watt PoE per port based on IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standards.
Critical infrastructure applications 10GPoE products are designed to be used in critical infrastructure applications that power Wi-Fi access points, small cells, IP surveillance cameras, and various enterprise and industrial equipment, and support self-repair and protection functions, such as link aggregation, Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) and Industrial Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP).
The new model can be managed through any standard web browser, Omnitron’s SNMP NetOutlook management software or any SNMP interface. Device management facilitates monitoring and scheduling functions, as well as power-receiving device (PD) heartbeat monitoring and automatic PD restart as needed. Event notification is done through SNMP traps and email messages.
“In addition to saving space and increasing flexibility through a compact size, the OmniConverter 10G PoE switch also provides a turnkey solution for edge networks facing ever-increasing bandwidth and high power requirements,” said Sankar Ramachandran, Director of Product Management. He went on to add: “Because many of the latest Wi-Fi access points, small base stations and IP surveillance cameras require more than 60W of PoE power, OmniConverter switches have the ability to provide high power PoE (60-100W) on all 1G access. The unique capability port provides network operators and corporate network administrators with solutions to address network edge bandwidth and high power requirements. Omnitron’s new 10G PoE switches are very suitable for bandwidth-critical networks with stringent bandwidth requirements without oversubscription.”
OmniConverter 10G Ethernet switches and PoE switches are available in managed models (10G/M, 10GPoE+/M and 10GPoEBT/M) or unmanaged models (10G/Sx, 10GPoE+/Sx and 10GPoEBT/Sx). OmniConverter models can be installed on shelves, walls and DIN rails. These models are available for commercial (0 to 50°C), wide (-40 to 60°C) and extended (-40 to 75°C) operating temperatures.
OmniConverter 10G Ethernet switches and PoE switches are designed and manufactured in the United States. They comply with TAA standards and provide a limited 5-year warranty and 24/7 technical support.
