How to use PoE injector?

In this part, we mainly use PoE-enabled IP cameras (or other PoE terminal devices) as an example to explain how to use PoE power injectors and non-PoE switches to supply power. The equipment to be prepared is: several IP cameras, several PoE power supplies (the number needs to be determined according to the number of IP cameras), a standard non-PoE switch and several network cables (Cat5eCat6Cat6a).
1. Test all equipment first to ensure that the IP camera, PoE power supply and the camera management system are all operating normally. Before installing the camera, complete the network configuration related to the camera in advance.
2. After the first step is completed, use a network cable to connect the camera to the electrical port of the PoE power supply.
3. Next, install the camera in a well-lit place to make the picture captured by the camera clearer.
4. Use another network cable to connect the data transmission port of the switch and the power supply.
5. Finally, plug the power cord of the power supply into the nearest AC power outlet.

What factors should be considered when purchasing a PoE Injector?

*Number of powered devices: If there is only one powered device, a single-port PoE power supply is sufficient. If there are multiple PoE terminal devices, you need to ensure that the number of PoE power injector ports matches.
*PoE single port power supply size: It is necessary to ensure that the power supply and the connected power receiving device meet the same PoE standard. There are usually three PoE power supply standards: 802.3af (PoE), 802.3at (PoE+), and 802.3bt (PoE++). Their corresponding maximum power supply sizes are 15.4W, 30W, and 60W/100W respectively.
*Power supply voltage: Make sure that the operating voltage of the power supply and the connected power receiving device are consistent. For example, most surveillance cameras operate at 12V or 24V. At this point, you need to pay attention to verify that the power supply voltage value of the PoE power supply matches the operating voltage value of the camera to avoid voltage overload or operation failure.
